ASC is the outgrowth of a meeting in October 2007 at the Consulate of Egypt in Sydney, Australia between Consul General Afifi Selim and Dr Jeffrey C. Marck, an Australian National University linguist who was preparing to retire to Cairo.  Selim was also retiring to Cairo in April 2008 and came onto the ASC “committee” upon returning to Cairo.

Jo Hillman of Melbourne consented to become ASC’s foundation preschool and elementary principal and is, this school year, working with the United Arab Emirates education system.

Now Selim, Marck and Hillman constitute the foundation for a board of directors for the school. Marck is Managing Director and Hillman is Director of Education. Not-for-profit Egyptian incorporation is presently being pursued.
